Baltimore is located in north-central Maryland about 40 miles northeast of Washington, DC. It is Maryland’s largest city and economic center, and the northeastern hub of the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Baltimore is also known for its historic sites, including the Inner Harbor, Fort McHenry, and the Maryland Zoo in historic Druid Hill Park The city is famous for being the birthplace of the National Anthem, Johns Hopkins University and for its delicious seafood, particularly crab cakes. Today, Baltimore is a vibrant community that honors the past while keeping a keen eye on the future.
